Syncing / Integrating Dooster With Google

You can combine Dooster with various Google tools to greatly enhance your productivity

Syncing with Google

To link your Dooster account to your Google account and enable syncing, click your "Account" link (see the top right hand of the screen).

Then click on the "Google Account Settings" button located near the top of the settings list.

The resulting screen will allow you to enable or disable which components are synced with your Google account.

When you have selected, click the "Update" button to make the changes permanent.

Please note: You may also be required to authorise the link by Google. Simply confirm your agreement and it will start working

Connecting your Google Calendar

Connecting your Google Calendar account with Dooster allows you the convenience of having all of your important milestones and tasks available for you - each in their own individual calendar.

Each Dooster project becomes a Google calendar . and vice versa

For example; anything you change in a Dooster project will be automatically updated on your related Google calendar.

It works both ways; if you add an event to your Google calendar it will become automatically available for you as a task in Dooster.

You can use this feature to harness the power of Google Calendars to share them with other Google users.

Google Documents

Got some important documents in your Google account that you want to share with your other Dooster users? Connecting your Google Documents account allows you to import them directly from Google into your Dooster library.

You can even attach them directly to tasks without the need to download and upload them manually.

To import an existing document from Google into your library first ensure that Google Documents syncing is enabled (see Syncing with Google) then:

  1. Click on the Library button
  2. Under the Import a Google Document heading select a project to import the document to.
  3. Under Document. select the document you would like to import from the list.
  4. Click Import Document.

The new document should now appear in your library.

It is important to note that the version in your Dooster library is an exact copy of the one from your Google Documents account at the time of import.

If you make any changes to the document in Google and want to update the version in Dooster, you will need to follow these steps again to re-import it.

To attach a Google Document to a task:

  1. Open a new or existing task.
  2. Click on "Files".
  3. Click on "Import Document from Google".
  4. Choose the document you would like to import from the list and clikc "Upload".

Google Contacts

Connecting with your Google Contacts allows you to automatically use your existing list of contacts in Dooster without the need to export them first.

Once linked, Dooster will also make sure to stay up to date with any changes you make to your Google contact list.

Adding a new contact in Google, or even on a Google synced device such as your Android phone, makes it automatically available for you in Dooster.

How to activate:

  1. Go to your "account" then click on the Google Account Settings buttoni
  2. Enable Exchange Contacts
  3. Click Update button

Troubleshooting

I can't sign in with my Gmail address using the Google Sign In feature
Dooster lets you sign in to using your Google credentials. However please note that at the present time this feature only applies IF you used the Google sign up feature during your initial registration.

If you signed up using the normal Dooster registration process, you cannot use the Google sign in feature yet - even if you registered using your Gmail address.

To log in to Dooster you must use the normal login form.

However this only concerns signing in. You can still link your account to Google to sync your Google documents, calendars and contacts. To activate these simply go to your account settings and follow the instructions.
